How To Create A Fashion House On Covet Fashion

Fashion Houses Header

Fashion Houses: Intro [ ]

While it's true that some players prefer to go it alone and happily play the game solo for months, even years, joining a Fashion House (FH) is essential if you want to level up quickly. Period.

Joining a Fashion House allows you to borrow garments for challenges from your FH members; participate in rallies; and to ask for advice on looks from experienced players before you submit the look for voting. Not to mention that joining a Fashion House can add a satisfying social dimension to the game and provide players with an in-game sense of community. Many players have even made good friends in their FHs, and expanded their Chat to closed Facebook groups and other platforms, such as Discord.

After you've entered your first few Limited Time challenges, Covet will prompt you to join a Fashion House. If you ignore this prompt, Covet will prompt you again in another few challenges. And then again. It may seem annoying, but Covet's devs are trying to tell you something. Joining a Fashion House is essential to leveling up quickly in this game.

Joining a Fashion House [ ]

To join a Fashion House, go to the FH tab at the bottom of your screen.

Covet FH matchmaking prompt

The first time you do this, you'll encounter the Covet FH matchmaking screen. Covet will ask you a few quick questions and then offer to find a suitable FH for you. You can also click on the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen and browse through the extensive list of Covet FH's yourself. (It's probably worth noting that many players feel the matchmaking system is flawed and are not very happy with the suggested houses. See below for alternative ways to find a Fashion House.)

Once you join a Fashion House, clicking on the FH tab will bring up a screen which shows the FH profile picture, name, Head of House (HoH), and additional info, including the FH's seasonal closet value and the number of FH members. This is the About screen for the FH. There will also be a scrollable list of your FH members. If you click on their player profiles, you can find out more info, including their individual current season closet value. You can also view their closet items and their entered looks. At the top, you'll also see tabs for Runway Rally and Chat.

At the top of the FH About screen, you'll see a magnifying glass on the left, and a door with an arrow on the right. The magnifying glass lets you browse the list of FHs, and the door icon is how you un-join (exit) your current FH.

Your own player profile screen will also now show your house membership, just below your player profile pic.

Advice from Fashion House

When you style challenges after joining a Fashion House, a white comment box will appear in the top left corner of the style window. If you click on this icon, it will bring up the Advice screen on which you can post up to 3 different looks to ask your FH members for advice about.

Finding a Good Fit [ ]

You'll be happier in your FH if it's a good fit for you. The main considerations are rally style (Fierce or Fancy), members' levels (whether they admit LCV players or not), key FH information such as the number of active members and the FH's in-season closet value, and sometimes, location (if entering challenges at specific times will be important). There are additional considerations, too, though including: expectations for challenge entries, expectations for Chat, and other social considerations including whether or not the FH is relatively drama-free and whether or not you and your FH members share similar goals. Most players join at least two or three houses before finding a good fit.

You can find more info about rally styles and how they impact your contributions to your FH on the Runway Rally page. More info about challenge types is on the Challenges page, so you have an idea what's involved in the expectations of your House, particularly if your House requires Flashback entries. And we've collected some guidelines on House etiquette in that section of the FAQ.

Where to Find Houses to Join [ ]

Beyond Covet's in-game matchmaking quiz and the browse function, a great place to find a good House is on the Covet Fashion subreddit. There's a pinned post at the top of the subreddit where players can recruit House members or advertise to join Houses. You can also try one of the many Facebook groups devoted to Covet Fashion and post a query there.
